Summary:
The Residential Services Shelter Manager is a dynamic and positive team player and oversees all operations concerning the Women’s Safe Shelter and 2nd Stage Housing. This position demands outstanding written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational skills and experience working with victims of interpersonal violence. De-escalation, conflict resolution and problem solving skills are essential to success.
Duties
Leadership
Resolve and mediate any client/staff issues
Prepare regular reports for funders and board with Executive Director
Prepare a multiyear work plan and related budgets based on strategic plan
Staff scheduling
Administrative and Fiscal Management
Ensure regular maintenance and building upkeep
Monitor program expenditures against established budgets
Ensure accurate statistical collection
Oversee daily operations and 2nd Stage Housing
Ensure security of building and grounds
Collaborate with Executive Director to compile research and organize funding reports and staff training.
Personnel Management
Manage Human Resources with Executive Director
Manage staff orientation, training, schedules and time sheets
Chair staff meetings
Administer confidential staff management and personnel files
Community Relations
Attend provincial, regional and local meetings
Ongoing communications and public relations activities
Client advocacy and interagency liaison
Expectations
· Follow a strict code of Confidentiality at all times
· Adhere to agency policies and procedures
· Work independently and in a team atmosphere, in accordance with the agency philosophy, mission and goals
· Complete administrative documentation related to position duties, including outcome measurements, statistics, report writing, timesheets, and expense claims
· Maintain professional and ethical boundaries
· Prepare proposal and grant applications and report writing.
· Be non-judgmental, respectful, empathetic to clients’ needs, and a healthy role model
· Represent North East Outreach and Support Services Inc. in a positive manner
· Participate in community awareness events
· Complete required valid training within 30 days of hire: CPR/First Aid; Safe Food Handling Certificate, WHMIS
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s Degree/Post-secondary education or a combination of education and 1-3 years management and supervisory experience is required to fulfill the duties above
· Experience in work planning, budgeting and financial monitoring
· Knowledge of non-profit environment an asset
· Experience working with at-risk individuals preferred
· Experience in property management and housing advocacy is an asset
· Demonstrate knowledge of and empathy for victims of interpersonal violence
· Ability to work flexible hours including some evenings, nights and weekends
· Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
· Preference will be given to individuals that live within the service area of North East Outreach and Support Services
· Possess a valid Saskatchewan driver’s license and access to reliable transportation
· Must be prepared to provide a vulnerable persons criminal record check.
Salary Range: $31.87 – $37.67 hourly range; salary range $58,000 - $68,560 per annum.
35 hour work week, pension and benefits following successful 3 month probation.
