Real Talk! We know that the COVID-19 pandemic has placed enormous pressure on everyone and being able to to access supports is more important than ever. What we also know is resources in rural areas can be difficult to access for numerous reasons and community engagement can be low because of that. So what is available?
Family Service of Saskatchewan is a network of 11 family serving organizations which North East Outreach and Support Services is a member agency of. We have collaborated together to create Rapid Access Counselling services in over 23 rural and urban communities across Saskatchewan. Rapid Access Counselling is a free, immediate, accessible form of brief counselling. People can make an appointment or drop in at some locations to access services provided by a qualified counsellor.
Who is this for?
Anyone! We offer quick access to brief mental health services for individuals, couples and families. We can help with concerns such as anxiety, depression, addictions, suicidal ideation, stress, relationship conflict, separation and divorce, domestic violence and parenting.
This is FREE. Our services are prioritized for individuals who do not have access to workplace benefits, who live on a fixed or low income, and who would otherwise experience long waits for public alternately funded services.
How does a person access this service?
In the North East, Rapid Access Counselling is available in person, over the phone or virtually through NEOSS. Simply go to counsellingconnectsask.ca to book same day appointments. But wait! It gets better! We also wanted to make things easier and easily accessible. Simply put in your location and the website will figure out who has services closer to you or who has the soonest available virtual counselling session. If the location closest to you does not have an appointment available, virtual or phone services are available through one of the 11 other member agencies within the network!
